A local move is anything inside the GTA, and almost all of them finish in one day. The variable is not distance — it is access. A third-floor walk-up in Toronto takes longer than a bungalow in Brampton twice as far away, and the quote reflects that rather than the odometer.
Timing matters more here than on a long haul. Crossing between Mississauga, Brampton and Toronto in rush hour can add an hour to a job that is otherwise thirty minutes of driving, so we start early and route around the worst of it. If the 407 saves more time than it costs in tolls we will say so, and the toll appears on the quote rather than as a surprise.

Common questions
- How far ahead should I book a local move?
- Two to three weeks is comfortable. For the last weekend of a month, the first of the month, or any summer weekend, book four to six weeks out — those dates fill first every year.
- Is a local move charged hourly or as a flat rate?
- Local moves are usually hourly, because access varies so much. You get an estimated range up front based on your inventory, and we flag anything on the day that would push past it before we go there.
